“By applying for and now having an ICC-ES report issued on these products, Temple-Inland has again demonstrated our commitment to providing high-quality products that satisfy the most reliable testing and certification processes. The ICC-ES report assures both customers and code officials that these products can be trusted to perform as indicated,” says Gary Keeling, product manager for Temple-Inland Fiber Products.
ICC-ES evaluation reports offer independent, verified evidence of a product’s code compliance, as well as summarizing relevant installation requirements and testing references. ICC-ES is an independent subsidiary of ICC, created in 2003 when the four national building product evaluation services were combined to provide consistent, professional evaluation of building components, products and processes.
QuietBrace sound-deadening structural sheathing offers a high-performance package of benefits that no other single sheathing product can match. It’s code recognized for structural strength and provides required wall bracing when fastened correctly. It offers effective noise reduction and an insulation R-value of 1.22 – which is 20-50% higher than OSB or plywood. And QuietBrace offers true moisture permeability, allowing potentially damaging moisture vapor to escape the wall cavity, reducing the risk of mold, mildew and rot.
SoundChoice sound-deadening fiberboard offers builders an effective solution for reducing or isolating unwanted noise in hospitals, schools, hotels, offices, apartments and residential homes. SoundChoice provides a noise-reduction coefficient of .35 alone and has been tested in gypsum wallboard assemblies that delivered STC ratings as high as 56.
