Span24 is a 1/2" gypsum board specifically designed to maintain exceptional flatness on ceilings framed 24" o.c. Thinner and lighter than traditional 5/8" panels, it’s also easier to handle and more cost efficient. Stronger than regular 1/2" gypsum, it surpassed the standards for 5/8" material in ATSM sag tests conducted at 90° Fahrenheit and 90% humidity.

Not recommended for high-moisture areas: baths, saunas, steam rooms. Prime with latex primer and allow paint to dry thoroughly. Apply insulation and polyethylene vapor barrier (if used) before installing ceiling board. If blown insulation is used, gypsum board must be installed prior to application of insulation. Insulation not to exceed 2.2 lbs./square foot.

Temple-Inland Span 24 ceiling board is certified in accordance to ISO 14021 standards to have recycled material content. All certified products feature a gypsum core sandwiched between recycled facers. Span24 is available with up to 95% certified recycled content for environmental “green” requirements. This certified material composition can contribute toward recycled material credits in the LEED rating system as well as other rating systems.
